Equipment

Ingredients

Tuna Steaks

  • 2 pieces ahi tuna steaks about 6 oz each
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
  • Rub each tuna steak with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon zest.
  • Place the tuna steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness.
  • Let the tuna rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

To avoid overcooking, use a meat thermometer and aim for an internal temp of 125°F for medium-rare. Add marinades like soy-ginger or Cajun spice for flavor variations. Tuna pairs well with air-fried asparagus or quinoa salad.
